Charles Frasier, Drafting Teacher

The following is an open letter from Mrs. Carolyn Frasier, wife of the late Charles Frasier, a teacher at Sandy High School and local historian dated April 20, 2008.

My late husband, Charles Frasier, taught Drafting and Woodshop for 29 years at Sandy High School.  He believed that the future of our community rested on the success of each student that he taught and nurtured.

I often heard him talk about the learning needs of his students and the importance of having the right facilities and equipment to help each student reach his or her highest potential.  He appreciated the efforts of the volunteers who worked to pass levies and bonds through the years to support our schools.  Our family asks for memorial contributions in his honor to be given to the Value Oregon Trail Education (VOTE) committee that was organized to support the upcoming bond levy.   He wanted to leave a legacy of a comprehensive and modern facility that is essential to continuing a high quality education for our kids.

The Oregon Trail School Board is placing a measure to build a much-needed new high school on the November 2008 ballot and the VOTE committee will soon swing into action to get approval for that measure.

Running a campaign takes money.  If Charles were with us today, I am confident he would be writing this letter asking you to send your contribution to support the VOTE effort to pass this levy.  That is why I am writing to ask you to please help continue Charles’ life work by placing your generous contribution in the enclosed envelope and returning it today.

Thank you so much for your help.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Carolyn Frasier and Family
